Having the opportunity to view life underwater is a privilege. To me the ocean is an escape from our normal lives and is a gateway to a different world. A place where many people want to go and where they will find remarkably alien life just below the surface.

Most of the time, our lives are lived at such a pace that we don’t have the opportunity or stillness to notice the beauty and diversity often found right in our backyards – capturing those images so often overlooked both on land and underwater is my passion. The photographs you are viewing on this site are generally of areas no larger than the palm of a hand and are sometimes as small as a postage stamp.

My eye is drawn to colour, texture, movement and shape and so I typically view subjects in their most abstract form. As such the striking images showcased here illustrate the minutiae of life on the reef and on land that in my opinion represent the world at its most thought provoking.
